Hospice RN (Registered Nurse) PRN Nights | Barrington, IL | Up to $46.63/hr + Shift Differentials

JourneyCare Hospice is hiring an experienced Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN night shift role in Barrington, IL. This position offers flexible scheduling, competitive hourly pay, and the opportunity to provide meaningful end-of-life care in a supportive team environment.

  • Location: Barrington, IL
  • Position type: PRN (as-needed)
  • Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
  • Minimum requirement: 2 shifts per month (additional shifts available and preferred)
  • Pay: Up to $46.63/hour - offer based on experience
  • Shift differentials: +$2.50/hour (weeknights), +$5.00/hour (weekend nights)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled hospice nursing care, including patient assessment, admissions, and care planning
  • Manage a hospice caseload and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
  • Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families
  • Communicate with physicians and care teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Perform nursing interventions and follow physician-directed treatment plans
  • Conduct follow-up visits and update patient care plans as needed
  • Provide end-of-life care, including clinical pronouncement and family support
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Hospice experience required (applicants without hospice experience will not be considered)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid drivers license and auto insurance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
