    Ecumen Hospice North Branch is hiring a Music Therapist to primarily serve our Hinkley, Sandstone, Cambridge and North Branch area patients. The Ecumen Hospice mission is to provide care that exceeds the expectations of those that find themselves in the later stages of life by providing a level of comfort and quality of life that makes each person feel honored and supported as their life continues to have significance.

    The Music Therapist is responsible for providing music therapy under the direction of the Clinical Director according to the patient’s unique plan of care. The Music Therapist manages their own caseload, schedule, and interventions, utilizing their expertise to address the patients unique plan of care.

    Opportunity Details: 

    • Schedule: 48hrs bi-weekly - Part-Time Shifts on weekdays between 8a-4:30p. Must work every other Tuesday. No Weekends or Holidays!
    • Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour.

    • Music Therapy Program: Work as part of an experienced, collaborative music therapy team across Ecumen's five hospice branches. We provide a variety of instruments and the innovative technology for Amplified CardioPulmonary Recordings. Ecumen encourages creativity and continued growth for you as an MT-BC professional. Our integrative therapies are valued members of the core hospice team, who understand the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to end-of-life care!

    Essential Job Responsibilities: 

    1. Assesses patients for appropriate medical indication for service and performs assessment to determine effectiveness of therapy.
    2. Directs and assists patients through music therapy interventions to assist with alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation, restlessness, sleeplessness, pain, tension, relaxation, and comfort.
    3. Provides ongoing education to the clinical team of appropriateness and/or contraindications for treatment.
    4. Maintains necessary records, e.g. clinical notes, charting, coordination notes, which will be incorporated into the patient’s clinical record within 24 hours of session and modified as needed.
    5. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Driving Requirements: Local Travel and Driver’s License Required

    Minimum Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited music therapy program
    • Current MT – BC certification from Certification Board for Music Therapists
    • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1-2 years of clinical music therapy experience in home health or hospice or senior care
