HOSPICE VOLUNTEERA Path of Care Hospice in Tulsa, OK is seeking a part‑time Hospice Patient Care Volunteer to support patients and families by providing companionship, practical assistance, and emotional support. This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, dependable, and passionate about helping individuals who are elderly, ill, or nearing the end of life.About A Path of Care HospiceA Path of Care Hospice is part of a partnership of home health, hospice, and private home services agencies. The mission is to relieve pain, improve comfort, and help patients maintain dignity and independence in their homes. Care teams work closely with physicians to create individualized plans of care, guided by the organization's core values of credibility, accountability, responsiveness, and empathy.The hospice team is committed to providing exceptional care, and volunteers play a meaningful role in supporting patients and families. Volunteers are welcomed into a supportive environment that values compassion, personal growth, and service.What You'll Do as a Hospice Patient Care VolunteerVolunteers extend the reach of hospice staff by offering companionship and practical support that helps patients remain safely and comfortably at home. Responsibilities may include:Providing companionship by sitting with patients, reading to them, or helping them write lettersRunning errands such as grocery shopping or driving patients to appointmentsAssisting with light housekeeping or laundryOffering emotional support and encouragement to patients and familiesHelping carry out aspects of the patient's care plan as directedObserving and reporting any changes or concerns promptlyPromoting a safe home environment and reducing risks of accidentsAssignments are matched to your interests and comfort level, ensuring a meaningful and supportive experience for both you and the patient.QualificationsWillingness to complete hospice volunteer training and orientationNo close personal loss through death within the past yearPhysical ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift/carry 40+ poundsRespectful, patient, and compassionate demeanorAbility to maintain professional boundaries and confidentialityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsReliability, punctuality, and good organizational habitsAbility to remain calm and supportive in emotionally challenging situationsWork SchedulePart‑timeFlexible schedule, Monday through FridayReady to Join the Caregiving Team?If this part‑time volunteer role feels like the right fit, please complete the quick, mobile‑friendly 3‑minute application.
