Job Description

Harborview Medical Center - Comprehensive Outpatient Rehab Program has an outstanding job opportunity for Hospital Assistant Rehab Therapy Aide in the clinic.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% (40 hours per week)

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The individual in this position will assist the physical, occupational, and speech therapy staff by performing delegated tasks that involve direct patient care; transportation of patients and supplies; ordering and stocking of supplies; and maintenance/set up of special equipment. Additionally, the person in this role will participate in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Orders maintain, and monitors all supply areas, and stocks equipment.

  • Monitors and restocks workgroup forms.

  • Cleans and maintains equipment, including but not limited to mats, wheelchairs, cpms, parallel bars, toys, and loaner bathroom equipment.

  • Maintains cleanliness and order in work area, gyms, and supply and storage areas.

  • Delivers equipment to appropriate departments; obtains supplies from other departments.

  • Provides routine inspection and maintenance of department equipment; removes faulty or damaged equipment from service, and reports to appropriate personnel.

  • Moves and sets up equipment, as necessary, for therapist use and patient care; assists in setting up special equipment.

  • Orders charts and retrieves records and other documents.

  • Transfers patient to and from appropriate conveyances (e.g., wheelchair, Hoyer lift, and mat or tilt table). Transports patients to and from their room and to designated treatment area.

  • Assists with such tasks as ambulating, positioning, and turning patients, completing ROM, exercise program, transferring patients to and from bed, assisting with ADL's, emptying linen bags.

  • Drives rehab van as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Nursing Assistant-Registered (NAR) or Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) with the State of Washington

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience

  • Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers upon hire
