VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, is a hybrid hospital with Specialty, Emergency, and General Practice. We offer board-certified specialists in such areas as neurology, internal medicine, surgery, and emergency/critical care, among others. We work hard to deliver the best medical care for your pets. Located in Denver, our veterinary specialists, technicians, and pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards. Of the latest medical procedures and treatments ensure that our patients receive the best in preventive and healing care.

We are looking for an experienced Hospital Director to join our team! This person will be responsible for a wide range of complex administrative activities related to hospitals providing quality patient care and excellent client service, management of finances and accounting, marketing, and promotion of services, staffing, and human resources, and discretionary activities, that serve to support effective business operations. The Hospital Director will support approximately 200 associates including doctors, technicians, veterinary assistants, and paraprofessional staff. The Hospital Director will be working daily in a company that genuinely values local input and decision-making.

What you will be doing (but not limited to):

  • Responsibility to foster a collaborative and positive culture and work environment

  • Focus on exceeding client expectations

  • Partner with Marketing Manager in promoting the hospital & cultivate relationships within the veterinary community

  • Develop and grow future leaders

  • Oversight and development of onboarding, training, and continuity programs

  • Accountability for the hospital profit & loss statements

  • Support the recruitment and retention of medical professionals

Who we are looking for:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of strong leadership experience in developing a solid team and proven success.

  • Prior specialty/emergency veterinary management knowledge is a plus

  • Excellent customer service and personnel management experience

  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques

  • Excellent analytical and organization skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Prior leadership for a specialty hospital or multi-site operational business

  • A highly emotionally intelligent leader with proven skills to effectively communicate with a strong team

  • Ability to multi-task and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities

  • Experienced record of generating revenue growth and ability to balance short-term needs and priorities while building for the future

  • $85,000-$115,000
