PeaceHealth is seeking a Hospital Engineer Senior - Facilities for a Full Time 1.00 FTE Variable position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is 36.83 - 55.25. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of general mechanical and preventative maintenance tasks as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the medical centers.
Essential Functions
- Operates, troubleshoots, adjusts, and performs complicated repairs and/or schedules and coordinates others on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Estimates parts and materials needs and develops purchase requisitions.
- Serves as a mentor and provides instruction and training to fellow caregivers on the safe and proper installation, operation, and maintenance of various mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Apprenticeship Preferred or other equivalent post-high school formalized training.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years Required: Experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Preferred: Supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
Credentials
- Required Upon Hire: Drivers License.
- Required Upon Hire: Fingerprinting - State of Alaska for positions in Alaska.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability in records and projects organization, quality control, and successful time management.
- Good computer keyboarding and data entry skills.
- Ability to read and interpret complicated mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals.
Working Conditions
Facilities Maintenance Engineer
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequent up to 30 lbs. Occasional up to 50 lbs.
- Movement: Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, grasping. Occasional pushing/pulling 15 lbs. sustained force with frequent stop/start. Occasional climbing ladders/stairs. Occasional squatting, kneeling, crawling. Occasional push/pull up to 50 lbs. force. Occasional reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, grasping.
- Environment: Continuous moving around area. Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Security
- Movement: Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Continuous moving around area.
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequent up to 10 lbs. Occasional up to 50 lbs.
- Environment: Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Exposure to outside temperatures (seasonal).
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Mental
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
