Navajo Preference Employment Act

Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The Hospital Maintenance Supervisor provides direct supervision to the Facilities Management Hospital maintenance and electrical staff including managing disciplinary actions as needed; performing quality management responsibilities; assists the Director of Facilities Management (Director) in financial management responsibilities; personnel development functions to maintain a productive work environment; performing other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or requested by the Director. Oversees and monitors the maintenance and repair of all hospital buildings, electrical systems, and grounds, plans and schedules work to ensure adequate coverage and resources. In coordination with the Facilities Engineers and management team, participates in the planning, design, and preparation of cost estimates for annual maintenance projects. To ensure minimal impact to departments and functions, the Supervisor coordinates maintenance activities with appropriate hospital departments.

Physical:
The duties of this position require the ability to continually on daily basis t, handle prolonged standing and walking, frequently sit, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, twist, maintain balance, reach, and occasionally drive. This position requires the ability to continually daily lift items 24 pounds; frequently (weekly) lift over 75 pounds; and, occasionally be able to lift 100 pounds or greater. This position requires the ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds continually; 75 pounds frequently; and over 100 pounds occasionally. May also require sitting at a desk and computer terminal for short periods of time. Incumbent must have the ability with hand manipulation requiring simple and firm grasping; fine manipulation; and use of keyboards. This position requires the sensory requirement of Far vision, near vision, color vision, depth perception, seeing in fine details, hearing normal speech, hearing overhead pages over a loudspeaker, and telephone use continually on daily basis.
Mental:
Must be able to use good judgment, prioritize work projects and coordinate multiple assignments while meeting internal and external deadlines. Incumbent must have the ability to continually concentrate; handle a high degree of flexibility; handle multiple priorities in stressful situations; and work alone.
