We are looking for a skilled full-time (benefit eligible) Hospital/Medical Biller to join our centralized billing office team in Fort Lauderdale, FL! This position is a hybrid position, including both remotely in a home office setting and in an office setting in Ft. Lauderdale.
Position Summary:
The Hospital/Medical Biller will fulfill operations and functions of the CBO timely and efficiently, complete coordination and organization of timely billing and collections of the assigned facility’s receivables, and engage and actively participate in all reviews and communications to successfully bill claims appropriately and successfully.
Duties and Responsibilities for the Central Billing Office:
· Claim Billing and Collection for assigned facilities under the CBO for Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care/HMO and Other assigned payers.
· Ensure all aspects for claims are correct prior to billing (i.e. requirements for each specified company such as authorization number, etc.)
· Ensure all claims have been received, in process and worked timely if denied.
· Appropriately note and document all work in facility EMR or Accounts Receivable Aging tools.
· Provide regular updates to assigned facilities and continuous communication with assigned facility staff.
· Provide claim follow up weekly, biweekly or an appropriate specified time if given (ex. 30 days).
· Follow up with facility staff if additional information is needed to successfully bill claims.
· Other duties assigned by Director of Finance.
Job Specific Requirements:
· Minimum, two (2) years’ experience in hospital billing or CBO (Centralized billing office) experience.
· Experience in CPSI and/or Clinicient preferred.
· Billing knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Auto Insurance Claim Processing.
· Billing knowledge of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware Medicaid preferred.
· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language and possess good communication skills.
· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
· Must possess the ability to handle tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
· Must be able to work harmoniously with other personnel.
· Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing sound accounting techniques.
· Must be able to carry out and understand written and oral instructions.
· Must be knowledgeable of computers, data entry, retrieval and output of information.
· Must possess the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
· Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Education:
· Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent. Two-year degree preferred.
Working Conditions:
· Works a hybrid position including both remotely in a home office setting and in an office setting.
· Able to be mobile which includes lifting up to 20 lbs. of force or force frequently.
