    WhatYou'llDo

    SupportPatientCareOperations

    • Maintainpatientcareareasbyensuringsuppliesandequipmentarereadilyavailable,clean,andproperlystored.

    • Monitorinventorylevels,restocksuppliesasneeded,andcheckproductexpirationdatestoensurepatientsafetyandregulatorycompliance.

    • Cleanandprepareequipmentforpatientuse.

    AssistPatientsandFamilies

    • Safelytransportpatients,familymembers,andvisitorsthroughoutthehospitalusingappropriatetransportmethodsandinfectionpreventionprotocols.

    • Providecompassionateassistanceandexcellentcustomerserviceduringpatientinteractions.

    • Respondappropriatelyinemergencysituationsbyseekingimmediateclinicalsupportwhenneeded.

    PromoteaSafeandOrganizedEnvironment

    • Helpmaintainaclean,organized,andsafepatientcareenvironment.

    • ParticipateinContinualServiceReadiness(CSR)activitiestosupportcompliancewithhospitalandregulatorystandards.

    • Identifyandreportequipmentissues,safetyconcerns,ormaintenanceneedspromptly.

    CollaboratewiththeHealthcareTeam

    • Communicateeffectivelywithnurses,physicians,andotherhealthcareprofessionalstosupportpatientcareneeds.

    • Utilizeemail,phones,pagers,Voalte,andothercommunicationtoolstostayconnectedandinformed.

    • Assistwithadditionaldutiessuchastransportinglaboratoryspecimensandsupportingdepartmentaloperationsasneeded.

    WhatWe'reLookingFor

    Qualifications

    • HighSchoolDiploma,GED,HSED,orequivalentexperience.

    • Basiccomputerandtechnologyskills.

    • Abilitytoworkindependently,prioritizetasks,andfollowestablishedpoliciesandprocedures.

    • Strongproblem-solvingskillsandattentiontodetail.

    • Excellentinterpersonalandcommunicationskillswithacommitmenttoprovidingexceptionalservicetopatientsandfamilies.

    PreferredQualifications

    • Previoushealthcareexperienceorknowledgeofhealthcareenvironments.

    • BasicLifeSupport(BLS)certificationthroughtheAmericanHeartAssociation,AmericanRedCross,orNationalSafetyCouncil.

    West 9 – Surgical-Medical Shorter Stay Unit

    West 9 is a 24-bed acute care unit. This unit cares for both medical and surgical patient populations. All Acute Care burn patients requiring dressing changes, surgical interventions, and management are cared for here. Procedural Short Stay (PSS) and Observation patients are the other focus for this department. Typical diagnoses for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine patients are: asthma, bronchiolitis, dehydration/viral gastroenteritis, skin & soft tissue infection/cellulitis, unintentional toxic ingestion, and croup. Nurses may also care for medical patients with varying diagnoses who are expected to have a shorter hospital stay
