Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Teach hospitality courses in traditional and/or distance learning formats, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment aligned with course objectives and real-world applications. This includes four dining room lab classes.
Develop, update, and deliver curriculum, including syllabi and instructional materials, to support student success and program outcomes
Provide instruction in both hospitality operations and customer service, serving as a liaison between kitchen production laboratories and front-of-house environments such as dining rooms and cafés
Evaluate student performance, maintain accurate records, and support student success through academic advising, recruitment, and job placement assistance
Demonstrate and reinforce industry standards in sanitation, training, and exceptional customer service within instructional settings
Participate in instructional planning and program development, including course updates, reporting, and maintaining required office hours
Collaborate with faculty, department leadership, and administration to support program initiatives and institutional goals
Engage in college and community service, including committee participation and outreach activities
Pursue ongoing professional development to maintain current industry knowledge and enhance teaching effectiveness
Perform other duties as assigned by the dean or department head
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a bachelors degree and recent experience in the hospitality industry.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have a master's degree in hospitality, tourism, business, leadership, communication, or a related field from an accredited program, along with five (5) years of recent hospitality industry experience and college-level teaching and/or training experience.
