Genesis Hotel Services LLC specializes in hospitality renovation and construction services for branded and independent hotel properties nationwide. Genesis Hotel Services LLC is seeking an experienced Hospitality Construction Superintendent to oversee hotel renovation and capital improvement projects throughout the hospitality industry. This position is responsible for managing daily field operations, subcontractor coordination, project sequencing, safety compliance, quality control, production schedules, and overall site execution from mobilization through project completion.
The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, hospitality renovation experience, and the ability to manage fast-paced projects in occupied and operational hotel environments while maintaining schedule performance, guest experience standards, and construction quality.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all day-to-day field operations for hospitality renovation and construction projects.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, labor crews, and site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
Maintain and drive project schedules, production sequencing, room turnovers, and milestone completion dates.
Manage occupied-hotel renovation logistics while minimizing disruption to hotel guests, ownership, and hotel operations.
Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, cleanliness, and adherence to project specifications.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, Ownership Representatives, Hotel Management, Designers, Architects, and Vendors throughout all project phases.
Lead and participate in subcontractor coordination meetings, scheduling meetings, safety meetings, and project walkthroughs.
Review project plans, specifications, finish schedules, PIP documents, RFIs, and submittals to ensure proper execution in the field.
Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, schedule impacts, unforeseen conditions, and construction deficiencies.
Track and document daily project progress, manpower, production rates, delays, material deliveries, and field issues.
Assist Project Management with project forecasting, change order documentation, schedule recovery plans, and budget control.
Coordinate inspections, punch list completion, owner walkthroughs, and final turnover activities.
Maintain site safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Ensure all trades perform work in accordance with approved plans, brand standards, and quality expectations.
Coordinate FF&E installation, guestroom turnover sequencing, corridor/public space scheduling, and material staging logistics.
Manage jobsite cleanliness, protection measures, guest-facing conditions, and operational awareness within active hotel environments.
Monitor long lead-time materials and coordinate deliveries to support project schedules.
Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, progress photos, issue tracking, and project logs.
Provide leadership, accountability, and direction to field personnel and subcontractors.
Maintain professionalism in all interactions with ownership groups, hotel staff, guests, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Superintendent or field leadership experience in commercial construction or hospitality renovation.
Strong understanding of hotel renovation operations including guestrooms, corridors, public spaces, back-of-house renovations, and FF&E installations.
Experience managing occupied hotel renovation environments preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and construction documents.
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control processes.
Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain production schedules under tight deadlines.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify field issues quickly and implement practical solutions with minimal operational disruption.
Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and jobsite safety practices.
Ability to work independently and manage rapidly changing project conditions.
Proficiency with construction management software, Microsoft Office, and mobile field reporting tools.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Professional demeanor and strong client-facing communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hospitality renovation and PIP experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, or branded hotel renovation standards.
Experience with occupied renovation phasing and guest-sensitive construction operations.
Knowledge of FF&E installation coordination and logistics.
Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in active construction environments and travel to project locations as required.
Ability to walk projects extensively, climb ladders, navigate construction areas, and inspect work in various conditions.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours or weekends as project schedules require.
