Job Title: Hospitality/Kitchen Coordinator
Job Status: Part time (up to 19 hours per week)
Reports to: Parish Business Manager
 
Job Summary: The Hospitality/Kitchen Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the parish hospitality ministry and kitchen operations. This includes planning and coordinating funeral luncheons, receptions, parish meetings, special events, and regular fellowship gatherings.
The coordinator fosters a welcoming environment where parishioners can experience community and belonging. A key part of the role is inviting and empowering others to live out their baptismal call to service by participating in hospitality ministries. Through guidance, training, and encouragement, the coordinator helps volunteers discover their gifts and contribute meaningfully to the life of the parish.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Kitchen Management-Ensure the kitchen facility is organized, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Event Coordination- Manage food preparation, set up and cleanup for parish events.
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Support-Recruit, train and support hospitality volunteers, fostering a culture of warmth, service, and shared responsibility.
  • Collaboration- Work with parish staff and ministry leaders to plan and execute events.
  • Training and Procedures- Organize training for groups involved in the school lunch program and various parish groups, ensuring compliance with OCHD procedures for a licensed kitchen.
  • Database and Scheduling-Maintain database of hospitality volunteers and schedule them as needed for events.
  • Purchasing and Maintenance- Procure and maintain kitchen supplies and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Must be certified as a ServeSafe Manager and in ServSafe Allergens.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow direction.
  • Strong organizational skills and computer skills
  • Completion of Archdiocese of Detroit- “Protecting God’s Children” Safe Environment Training
  • Current background check.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required for scheduled events.
