Hospitality Operations Internship (Summer)

Overview:

The BRIDGE (Building Relationships, Inspiring Development, Growing Excellence) Summer Internship Program offers motivated students a hands-on, immersive experience designed to launch a successful career in hospitality. Interns gain real-world exposure to resort operations, work alongside experienced hospitality leaders, and participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the guest experience.

 

Hospitality Operations Interns can look forward to gaining valuable hands-on experience along South Carolina’s Grand Strand, a vibrant coastal destination with a thriving tourism and hospitality industry that welcomes millions of visitors each year. Interns may be placed at participating locations throughout the Grand Strand, including the Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Pawleys Island areas.

 

Through a combination of hands-on learning, mentorship, and leadership development, the program gives interns the opportunity to build their professional skills while exploring future career opportunities with Brittain Resorts & Hotels. All BRIDGE internships are paid, allowing interns to earn while they learn and experience a summer along the South Carolina coast.

What You’ll Experience

• Hands-on learning and real-world experience across key hospitality departments, including Guest Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and more
• Exposure to both day-to-day resort operations and behind-the-scenes processes
• Mentorship and guidance from experienced hospitality leaders
• Opportunities to shadow property leadership and participate in operational meetings and property walkthroughs
• A capstone project focused on enhancing the guest experience or improving operational efficiency
• Professional development activities designed to build valuable career and leadership skills
• A fun and engaging internship experience with team events and opportunities to connect with fellow interns and hospitality professionals

Internship Pathways

Based on academic level, experience, and program placement, internship opportunities may include:

• Rotational experiences across multiple areas of resort operations
• Focused placements within a specific department
• Leadership and management immersion experiences

High-performing interns may be invited to return for future internships, considered for post-graduation development opportunities, or offered employment with Brittain Resorts & Hotels.

Internship FAQs

• How long is the internship? Internships are typically 8-12 weeks long, but there is the potential to be flexible based on your school's requirements.

• Is this internship paid?  Yes, interns through this program are paid.  Pay rate is dependent upon prior experience, but no experience is require to apply.

• Is housing provided.  Housing is not currently provided.

• Am I eligible for internship credit with my school?  Internship requirements vary by school, so you will need to check with your institution for details.

• Which resort will I be placed at for my internship?  We have several locations along the Grand Strand interested in accepting interns, so there are multiple options for placement.

• Are the hours full-time or part-time?  Both full-time and part-time options are available.
