Job Summary
The role of Greeter is responsible for being an upbeat and kind presence to greet guests when they enter our organization. It is key for the Greeter to remain positive and courteous with all guests while welcoming and escorting them to the appropriate location/table.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times
Extend courteous departures as guest leave
Be aware of wait times and notify the guests during busy times
Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and always maintaining the cleanliness of the room
Complete closing duties as assigned
Restock supplies as needed
Be familiar with the menus of the restaurant and be able to highlight items for guest
Maintain complete knowledge of table and seat numbers, proper table set ups
Guide servers and bus persons in table set-up
Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently
Check with the phone reservationists or answering machine messages to assure you have all reservations
Check with manager to assure private parties are properly staffed and organized for the evening
Check with kitchen to verify menu items are readily available
Keep in constant contact with the servers, manager, and the kitchen to ensure timing and food preparation is synchronized with guest flow
Thank guests leaving the restaurant to ensure they had a pleasant dining experience
All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
Experience in customer service is strongly preferred

Detail-oriented and thorough.
Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
Strong customer service skills and ability to be friendly while mulitasking
Effective verbal communication skills
Ability to operate various restaurant operating systems
Ability to solve issues independently
Ability to work as a team
Ability to memorize and describe menu items
Decision making skills
Physical Demands
Standing for extended periods of time
Continuous walking and movement
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
Working Conditions
Most work is done indoors with some outdoor exposure when taking or greeting guests on the patio
Possible exposure to extreme heat and cold depending on season
Exposure to a somewhat noisy environment
