About Us
Flathead Harbor at Lakeside is a waterfront bar & grill on the shores of Flathead Lake, offering casual American cuisine, cocktails, and live music with some of the best views in Montana. With a large lakeside patio, indoor seating, six screens for game day, and daily drink and food specials, we're a hub for locals and visitors enjoying marina life, boat tours, and lake-town hospitality.
The Role
We're looking for a warm, organized Host/Hostess to be the first and last impression guests have of the Harbor Grille. You'll set the tone for every visit — greeting guests with a smile, managing the flow of our dining room and patio, and helping create a smooth, welcoming experience from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave.
What You'll Do
- Greet and welcome guests warmly as they arrive, including families, boaters, and large groups
- Manage seating arrangements and waitlists for indoor and patio dining, balancing server sections for an efficient flow
- Accurately estimate wait times and communicate them clearly to guests
- Answer phones, take reservations, and assist with call-ahead seating
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand and entryway
- Walk guests to their tables and provide menus, silverware, and any needed accommodations
- Coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth table turnover
- Handle guest questions, special requests, and occasional concerns with professionalism, escalating to a manager when needed
- Support the team during high-volume periods such as weekends, live music nights, and peak summer season
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication skills, both in person and on the phone
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure during busy shifts
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Prior host/hostess or customer service experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak summer season
