Job Title:  Host/Hostess

Summary:  As a host/hostess, you will provide guests with a friendly greeting and will seat them promptly.  You will also assist servers and provide customer support via the telephone.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat guests
• Provide guests with menus and tableware, if needed
• Maintain a waiting list for seating
• Answer the telephone and accept reservations
• Let customers know about restaurant specialties and promotions
• Coordinate servers and bussers to ensure customers receive the highest level of service possible
• Assist servers with their responsibilities as necessary
• Additional responsibilities as assigned or requested by management

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of or experience with providing customer service, specifically in the hospitality industry
• Excellent speaking and listening skills
• A friendly, warm, and outgoing personality
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Be able to monitor the environment for signs of problems that need to be addressed (i. e. tables needing to be cleaned, intoxicated patrons, etc.)

Work Environment

The host/hostess will working in the front of the restaurant near the entrance in a full-service

restaurant.  They are expected to feel comfortable communicating and working with a diverse group of customers and co-workers.

Salary

$10.00 - $12.00 per hour
