Location: The Americano                                             Pay Range: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Job Summary
The Host/Drink Runner at The Americano helps create a welcoming, polished, and seamless dining experience. As a host, this team member sets the tone by warmly greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating an efficient seating flow. As a drink runner, they support the bar and service teams by delivering beverages promptly and accurately.
This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to move comfortably between guest-facing and service-support responsibilities. Availability Wednesday through Sunday is required.


Key Responsibilities

• Greet every guest with genuine hospitality and professionalism.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest notes using the designated reservation system.
• Coordinate table assignments to maintain appropriate pacing and maximize guest satisfaction.
• Communicate clearly with managers, servers, bartenders, and other support staff.
• Answer phone calls and guest inquiries professionally and accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing host stand and entrance.
• Deliver alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages promptly and accurately.
• Verify table and seat numbers before delivering drinks.
• Handle glassware and beverage trays safely and confidently.
• Communicate with bartenders and servers regarding missing, delayed, or incorrect drink orders.
• Assist with menus, table resets, water service, guest farewells, and other front-of-house duties during peak periods.
• Anticipate guest needs and recognize special occasions or requests.
• Follow all food-safety, alcohol-service, and workplace safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• At least one year of host, restaurant support, or guest-service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Friendly, polished, and composed demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with OpenTable or a similar reservation platform is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and safely carry trays of beverages and glassware.
• Must meet all applicable age and certification requirements for handling or serving alcoholic beverages.
