    Host Job Description
     
                                     
     
    POSITION PURPOSE:
    Greet guests quickly and courteously.  Seat guests in restaurant in accordance with specified rotation requirements.  Ensure that reception area is clean and neat.  Answer phone in accordance with company policies.
     
     
     
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    1. Work cards are to be on your person at all times during shift.  Inform your immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.
    2. Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, friendly and professional image.
    3. Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so.  comply with Health department standards.
    4. Must maintain good personal grooming and uniform standards while on duty.
    5. Have knowledge of where the SDS booklet is located for your area.
    6. Display knowledge of all emergency procedures.
    7. Responsible for informing the immediate supervisor of any team member or guest opportunities.
    8. Perform any other duties as directed by management.
    9. Promote a safe and clean environment for fellow team members and guests.
    10. Always keep work area clean.
    11. Responsible for the handling of company funds through cash transactions on the P.O.S. system, in accordance with all company policies and procedures for to go orders. As well as any gaming transactions (Applies to applicants over 21 years of age.)
    12. Fully understand how to operate the Point of Sales System.
    13. Must comply with all closing procedures at the end of shift in accordance with management guidelines.
    14. Must be familiar with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
    1. Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
    2. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in English both in written and verbal form.
    3. Ability to make quick judgement decisions.
    4. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. May include evenings, early morning and holidays.
    5. Requires normal, corrected vision range and absence of color blindness.  Requires the ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
    6. Follow all safety policies and departmental procedures.
     
     
    OTHER:
    Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smokey indoor service.  Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 foot access. 
    Task performed from a non-sitting position.  Team members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. 
    These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area and constant contact with team members and guests.
    Requires the physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, bend or reach to a height of 6 feet with or without reasonable accommodations.
    Requires eye/hand coordination.  Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound.  Requires regular and predictable attendance. 
       
     
     
    SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL and ABILITY:
    1. Must be capable of lifting up to 20 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.
    2. Fully understand how to operate the point of sales system.
     
     
    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
     
     
    Experience:  Cash handling experience, responsible for all transactions in a tavern/bar environment.
     
    Licenses or Certificates:  Must be able to obtain all required work cards for the position as well as a health card and alcohol awareness card (applies to applicants 21 years of age and older).
