At Midway Diner, our Hosts/Hostesses create the first and last impression for every guest. We're looking for friendly, organized, and hospitality-driven individuals who enjoy connecting with people and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Host/Hostess, you'll greet guests with a warm smile, manage reservations and waitlists, coordinate the flow of the dining room, and help ensure every guest has an exceptional experience from arrival to departure. You'll work closely with the entire front-of-house team to provide outstanding hospitality while keeping service organized and efficient.

What You'll Do

- Welcome every guest with genuine hospitality and create a positive first impression. 

- Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.

- Manage reservations, waitlists, seating assignments, and guest requests efficiently.

- Communicate accurate wait times and keep guests informed throughout their visit.

- Coordinate seating to maintain an efficient dining room flow.

- Assist with takeout orders by answering questions, coordinating pickups, and ensuring order accuracy.

- Monitor guests while they wait and provide attentive hospitality.

- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.

- Communicate special requests, celebrations, allergies, and large parties with the front-of-house team.

- Answer phones professionally and assist guests with reservations and general inquiries.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand, lobby, and restrooms.

- Support the front-of-house team by clearing and resetting tables and assisting wherever needed.

- Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.

- Follow all service, cleanliness, and safety standards.

- Experience with restaurant reservations or POS systems is preferred but not required.

- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays. 

- Students are encouraged to apply! We're happy to work around school schedules whenever possible to help you balance work and your education.
