Hostess

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and guest-focused hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. The hostess plays an important role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while managing reservations, coordinating seating, and ensuring smooth flow of service.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and enjoys creating a great first impression.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive and thank them as they leave
• Manage reservations and waitlists using reservation software or guest book
• Seat guests efficiently while balancing server sections
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and communicate updates to guests
• Answer phone calls and assist with basic guest inquiries
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Assist with managing guest flow during busy periods
• Communicate with servers and management regarding table status and availability
• Help maintain menus, wine lists, and promotional materials
• Assist with light front-of-house duties as needed
• Provide a professional and friendly first impression of the winery and bistro

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable using reservation or POS systems
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
