POSITION SUMMARY
The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests and is expected to represent the brand with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency. This position supports overall guest experience by managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the reception area. Hosts are required to actively participate in creating a positive and solution-focused environment that reflects our “Culture of Yes.”

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet every guest with a genuine smile, eye contact, and a warm welcome.
  • Manage the waitlist and reservation system (OpenTable), ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Assign tables based on floor plan, server rotation, guest preferences, and restaurant flow.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus (including children’s or special menus).
  • Handle phone calls, answer general inquiries, and manage takeout and third-party delivery orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entry area throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with service staff and kitchen to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Promote daily specials, birthday options, and lounge/bar seating as needed to enhance sales.
  • Perform all assigned opening and closing duties, including restocking, cleaning, and end-of-shift reports.
  • Provide exceptional service by practicing the “Culture of Yes” and escalating guest concerns appropriately.
  • Support deep cleaning tasks as scheduled and assist with special events or large parties.
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
 
  • Must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with uniform and hygiene standards.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must comply with company procedures regarding attendance, behavior, shift duties, and teamwork.
  • Must be able to handle cash, close out reports, and follow closing processes accurately.
  • Must be willing to perform in all three host roles (Lead Host, Runner Host, Phone Host) as trained.
  • Must actively support sales goals, daily operations, and uphold the mission and values.
  • Must treat all guests, coworkers, and leadership with courtesy and professionalism.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Lift, carry, and move objects up to 20 lbs. (e.g., menus, supplies, takeout bags).
  • Communicate clearly in person and over the phone.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate POS and reservation systems.
  • Maintain visual focus to monitor tables and guest activity.
  • Perform tasks in varying indoor/outdoor temperatures.
