Hotel Houekeeper

We are seeking an experienced, detail-driven Hotel Housekeeper to deliver consistently clean, guest-ready rooms and well-maintained public spaces in a hotel environment. This role requires a strong sense of urgency, excellent attention to presentation, and the ability to follow hotel standards and checklists every shift. The ideal candidate understands that great housekeeping is a key part of the guest experience and takes pride in high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities (Detailed)
Guest Room Cleaning & Reset (Primary)

• Clean assigned guest rooms thoroughly and efficiently while meeting hotel quality standards and daily productivity expectations.
• Make beds to standard (tight corners, smooth linens, correct layering), replace linens as required, and inspect for stains/tears.
• Clean and sanitize all bathroom areas including toilets, showers/tubs, sinks, mirrors, counters, floors, and high-touch points.
• Dust and wipe all surfaces: nightstands, desks, dressers, lamps, headboards, frames, windowsills, and baseboards.
• Vacuum carpets and/or sweep and mop hard floors; spot clean as needed.
• Remove trash and used room service items; replace liners and ensure proper disposal.
• Restock room supplies and amenities (towels, washcloths, toiletries, tissue, cups, coffee/tea items if applicable) according to standards.
• Inspect room condition and presentation before marking "ready,” ensuring the room is staged neatly and free of odors, streaks, hair, or debris.
• Identify and report any room damage, missing items, or maintenance needs (lights out, HVAC issues, plumbing leaks, stains, broken fixtures, etc.).

Public Area / Back-of-House Cleaning (As Assigned)

• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, elevators, stairwells, lobby areas, public restrooms, and other common spaces as assigned.
• Keep housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas clean, organized, and stocked.
• Assist with deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis (baseboards, grout, vents, behind/under furniture, upholstery spot cleaning, etc.).

Safety, Standards & Professionalism

• Follow all safety procedures for chemicals and equipment, including proper dilution, labeling, and use of PPE (gloves, etc.).
• Use "Wet Floor” signs and follow hotel safety protocols to prevent guest/staff injuries.
• Handle guest belongings respectfully; follow lost-and-found procedures immediately and accurately.
• Maintain a professional appearance and respectful communication with guests and hotel team members.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, front desk, and maintenance to prioritize room turns and guest needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent housekeeping experience in a hotel (guest room attendant/housekeeping) required.
• Strong knowledge of hotel cleaning procedures, room reset standards, and time/quality expectations.
• Ability to follow checklists, instructions, and brand/property standards consistently.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality—this role is essential to daily hotel operations.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed (typical in hotel operations).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-volume room assignments and same-day turns.
• Experience using commercial cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus (not required).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.
• Ability to push/pull a housekeeping cart and lift up to 40 lbs.
