Hotel Maintenance Engineer

JobSummary

• Responsible for the general appearance and maintenance of the physical property and for ensuring the efficient operation of the property on a daily basis.

Major Duties andResponsibilities

• Maintain general appearance of buildings and grounds
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
• Evaluate, repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building
• Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance
• Maintain swimming pool
• Receive and respond to guest maintenance requests
• Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects
• Calibrate instruments and tools required for job responsibilities
• Wear protective equipment as required
• Other duties as assigned
• Be on call in case of an emergency

Essential skills and experience:

• 1+ years’ building maintenance experience
• Willingness to inspect and evaluate all mechanical aspects of the building
• Ability to schedule preventative maintenance services
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power equipment in a safe and effective manner
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Must have the ability to climb heights, lift up to 60 lbs. and climb onto ladders
• General knowledge of methods and principles of general building maintenance
• Preferably have general knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations related to areas of assignment

Physical demands and work environment:

• Work in a shop environment
• Must able to lift between 45-60 pounds, must be able to bend, stoop, assemble equipment, and climb stairs.
• May be required to assist with loading and unloading of equipment.
• Must be able to transition from one job assignment to another on short notice.
• Must be able to maintain a high level of physical activity (requiring agility and flexibility) for long periods.
• Must be a self-starter
