The Department of Recreational Services is seeking an Hourly Professional, Recreation to join the already awesome team, taking the department to the next level of excellence!

Duties:
Georgia State University, Department of Recreational Services, is searching for an outstanding candidate to fill the role of Hourly Professional Position, Recreation. This position is based at the Dunwoody campus and will work 19 hours/ week. Primary responsibilities include assisting with supervision of daily operation of drop-in activity space that includes cardio/strength rooms, game areas, basketball/tennis courts, outside field space and pool (if applicable). Responsibilities include assisting with hiring, training, and supervision of student staff that monitor those areas. Develop and enforce drop-in use and staffing policies and procedures based on industry standards, University policies and patron eligibility.
Assist with the coordination of group exercise classes to include hiring, supervising, evaluating, scheduling, and payroll for qualified instructors. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for instructor responsibilities and program offerings. Supervise and monitor the registration process for participants. Assist with the coordination of intramural events that include league, tournaments, team and individual competition. Hire, supervise, evaluate and schedule officials and scorekeepers. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for staff responsibilities and program offerings. Supervise and monitor registration process for participants.
Risk Management: Ensure equipment and environments are safe for participants. Daily review of equipment status, initiate repairs, and coordinate replacements as needed. Review and update annually emergency action procedures relevant to activity to activity and staffing. Ensure that all staff members maintain current CPR, First Aid, AED, and other certifications relevant to their specific area of responsibility.
Other duties as assigned.
This position will require some weekend and evening hours.

Qualifications
:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or a combination of education and experience in the related field.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Recreation, Sports Administration or related field. 3 years of experience specific with either Intramural or Sport Club programming in a University Recreation program. High School or equivalent officiating experience in a variety of sports.
