Looking for a qualified hourly Registered Nurse. Duties include completing medical health assessments and providing medical treatment, counseling, and health education relevant to adolescent growth and development to secure detention facility residents and other Juvenile Services group home residents.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no formal supervisory responsibilities. May direct and monitor the work of part-time nurses, interns and trainees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and two years of successful experience in graduate nursing, hospital work or related field.

Possession of certificate as a registered professional nurse as issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
Possession of valid drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and acceptable driving record according to City criteria. View Driving Criteria.
Prior to employment must have Criminal Record Check and reference checks completed, and Child Protective Services check initiated. Prior to onset of employment must have tuberculin and drug screen as part of physical examination.

This position requires you to work in a secured detention facility and provide medical treatment to adolescents, such as performing routine physical assessments, and providing liaison activities with other health care providers. Tell us how your work experience has prepared you for this position.

This position requires you to work independently, primarily at the Detention Facility(coed), as well as other Juvenile Service facilities. Tell us about your experience working in similar environments.

This position requires you to treat adolescents at a Detention Facility and at other Juvenile Services residential group homes. Describe your experience treating adolescents.

This position requires you to conduct training such as medication management to Detention facilities and group home staff, as well as general health and hygiene training to the residents. Describe your training experience in these areas.

This position requires you to treat troubled adolescents from many different backgrounds. Please describe your experience in similar environments.

Transporting agency clients is a requirement of this job that requires that you be at least 21 years of age. Please certify below that you are at least 21 years of age.
