Job Summary
The House Attendant plays a key role in delivering the Beacon Grand standard of cleanliness and guest care. This position is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of all assigned public areas, corridors, and back-of-house spaces, as well as supporting Room Attendants and responding to guest requests in a timely, professional manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in all public areas, guest corridors, service areas, and assigned guest rooms in accordance with Beacon Grand standards.
  • Assist Room Attendants by removing trash and soiled linens, delivering clean linens and supplies, and supporting special cleaning projects as directed.
  • Deliver guest-requested items (such as cribs, rollaways, extra linens, towels, and amenities) promptly and courteously, ensuring follow-through and guest satisfaction.
  • Clean and maintain public spaces including lobbies, elevators, public restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other guest areas:
    • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
    • Clean glass, mirrors, and windows
    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets
  • Properly use, maintain, and store housekeeping equipment (vacuums, carts, tools, cleaning supplies); report any issues or malfunctions immediately.
  • Replenish and organize housekeeping closets and supply rooms; rotate linens to ensure proper par levels and quality.
  • Spot clean walls, carpets, light fixtures, doors, and other surfaces as needed throughout the shift and at end of day.
  • Follow all hotel procedures for handling Lost & Found items, ensuring items are promptly turned in and documented.
  • Observe and report any maintenance or safety issues in guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas; complete work orders as required.
  • Adhere to all safety, security, and sanitation policies; take corrective action when unsafe conditions are observed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, promptly reporting any unusual situations, guest concerns, or operational issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently; ability to bend, kneel, and reach as required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience in an upscale or luxury hotel environment preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; additional languages are a plus.
  • Professional, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor, with the ability to interact positively with guests and team members at all times.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business requires.
  • Commitment to upholding the Beacon Grand brand standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest service.
