House Keeper-FT Day Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Housekeepers will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for the residents. Will be responsible for cleaning resident apartments, guest apartments, common areas, as well as office and surrounding areas according to housekeeping standards and procedures.Your attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to the well-being and overall quality of life for our residents.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8AM-4PM

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Clean Resident apartments (typically 25-30 AL rooms or 20 REF rooms) on a daily basis, following the cleaning schedules and procedures assigned.
2. Make up beds daily and changes bed linens weekly or more often if needed.
3. High and low dusting as required by cleaning schedule to include but not limited to vents, light fixtures, baseboards, under beds.
4. Notify director if rooms need cleaning that is in excess of the basic cleaning schedule linens regularly need to be changed more frequently than once a week.
5. Make ready vacant apartments according to prescribed procedures and checklist.
6. Report and turn over lost and found items to Director of Housekeeping.
7. Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Keep cleaning chemicals with them or in locked compartment on cleaning cart.
8. Maintains a pleasant and courteous manner with peers, supervisors, guests, visitors, Residents and management.
9. Report all incidents, complaints or needed repairs to the appropriate Director.
10. Report any change in Resident or Resident’s normal living condition to Director of Housekeeping.
11. Read SDS sheets for all chemicals used, follows proper handling procedures as outlined. Use proper personal protective equipment when handling hazardous chemicals.
12. Attend monthly in-service as conducted for Housekeeping personnel.
13. Wear proper and clean uniform as directed by the company.
14. Performs other duties and/or assists in other departments as assigned by Supervisor, Executive Director or Manager on duty.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be able to follow simple written and oral instructions.
3. Experience helpful, but will receive on-the-job training.
4. Must have the ability to be on feet majority of work day, carry equipment and materials, bend, pull, reach and push.
5. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English, which is the predominant language of a majority of our residents.
6. Must be emotionally, mentally and physically able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to provide required services to residents, including verbally communicating with residents.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Working in an assisted living community- a 24 hours/day & 7 days/week operation.
2. Constantly on feet, 100% of time.
3. Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting and reaching 85% of time.
4. Some exposure to harsh chemicals.
5. Some heavy lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
6. Some exposure to wet conditions.
7. Exposure to blood borne pathogens.
8. Required to wear PPE and company issued uniform.
