House Lead

Pay: $20–$23/hour

Lead a Team & Make a Real Impact

At Ability Matters, we support individuals with autism and other neurological disabilities in building independence, confidence, and meaningful lives in their communities. We are not a home health agency. We are a community inclusion organization. 

As a House Lead, you'll work alongside your team to ensure individuals receive exceptional support while coaching staff, solving problems in real time, and helping each day run smoothly.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys mentoring others while remaining actively involved in direct support.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Daily Support: Provide direct support while helping ensure each shift runs smoothly and individuals receive high-quality, person-centered services.

  • Coach & Support Staff: Train and mentor Direct Support Professionals while reinforcing best practices and positive team culture.

  • Ensure Quality Care: Monitor documentation, home safety, and Individual Service Plan implementation.

  • Problem-Solve in Real Time: Address daily challenges, respond to changing needs, and help maintain consistency across shifts.

  • Build Positive Relationships: Communicate with families, coworkers, and teams while serving as a trusted resource within the home.

  • Model Excellence: Lead through professionalism, accountability, compassion, and respectful interactions with individuals and teammates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required (Bachelor's preferred)

  • Two years supporting individuals with developmental disabilities

  • Leadership or scheduling experience preferred

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Evening, weekend, and emergency availability
