Job Title: House Manager and Family Assistant

Location: Cottleville, Missouri 63304

Employment Type: Part-time, 20–25 hours per week

Compensation: $30–$35 per hour

Start Date: Mid-August (ASAP preferred to allow time to meet the family and learn the household flow before the school year begins)

Schedule:

  • Monday and Tuesday: 8 hour shifts beginning at either 9:00 or 10:00 AM (flexible for candidate's preference)
  • Alternating Weekly Schedule
    • Week A, three shifts: Wednesday or Thursday (approximately 8 hours)
    • Week B, five shifts: Friday late afternoon (4 hours) and Saturday (4 hours)

The family is looking for someone who is generally flexible if an occasional adjustment is needed (for example, moving a Wednesday shift to a Thursday with advance notice). However, the expectation is that the regular schedule will follow this consistent two-week rotation.

If you're excited about the opportunity but have a minor scheduling conflict, we still encourage you to apply. The family is open to discussing schedule adjustments for an exceptional long-term fit.

Requirements

  • Reliable personal transportation and valid driver's license (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable with and knowledgeable around large dogs
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, in a professional or personal capacity
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain prior to start
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

About Our Family

We are a busy, warm, and driven family anchored by a working entrepreneur and three kids, each at a distinct age and stage. Our home is full of energy, movement, and heart. Our week is shaped by school schedules, after-school pickups, competitive youth sports with travel, doctor's appointments, and a mom who is deeply committed to both her professional work and her personal and family's wellbeing. The days are a mix of back-to-back calls and creative problem-solving, often interrupted by the very real logistics of raising three children.

We are a co-parenting family, and the children divide their time between Mom's home and their dad's home, who lives locally. This role will support Mom and the household routines within her home, following a consistent A/B schedule that aligns with the children's custody arrangement. While the routine is generally predictable, there may occasionally be minor schedule adjustments with advance notice due to Dad's commitments. We value someone who can embrace that rhythm with flexibility and confidence.

The energy in our home is social and warm, and we genuinely care about the people who are part of our world. At the same time, we need a household partner who can read the room, respect focused work time, and take initiative without needing constant direction.

We have a two-year-old Goldendoodle who is friendly, energetic, and about 70 pounds. He is a big part of the household, and comfort with large, exuberant dogs is a genuine must.

Who You Are

You are the kind of person who walks into a home, scans the room, and is already three steps ahead before anyone has said a word. You notice the laundry sitting in the dryer, the soccer uniform that needs to be found, the plant that hasn't been watered in weeks, and the calendar appointment that got buried under a busy Tuesday. You take action, you solve problems quietly, and you bring calm to a household that runs fast.

You are patient, kind, and intuitive, especially when it comes to children. You understand that intricacies of supporting a child with specific needs and routines that require consistency, predictability, and a genuinely warm presence. You do not need to be told twice, and you do not need to be micromanaged. You stay a step ahead, check in when needed, and can see the vision of what a household needs to be running smoothly and effectively.

You thrive on variety and take pride in helping a household run smoothly. You're the kind of person who can step in, take ownership, and meaningfully lighten a family's mental load. Calm, observant, and dependable, you're naturally good at reading the room, knowing when to take initiative, and staying focused on what needs to get done.
