About Our Family

We're a warm, and wonderfully eclectic household in Snohomish County. Both parents have demanding professional careers and are stretched thin during the week. One works remotely and is on calls most of the day, and the other works is a trial lawyer. We have a self-sufficient teenager and two Norwegian Forest cats.

Our home is lived-in, layered, and full of character and a healthy collection of quirky things we genuinely love. This is not a minimalist household, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

We have existing bi-weekly house cleaners and are looking for a professional and reliable long-term house manager to handle the day-to-day flow—someone who can step in, keep things running, and can gradually increase in responsibilities over time.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who takes direction well, but also takes initiative once the duties are outlined. We are happy to show you our routine and what needs doing, but once that is done, the hope is to have someone that can step in and get things done with minimal oversight.

You're capable and thorough, but not so rigid that a little imperfection bothers you. You love cats (or at the very least, don't mind them around and climbing on things). You're someone who sees themselves growing with a family over time, taking on more responsibility as trust is built, and who brings a positive, resourceful energy to everything you do.

We are looking for someone who is able to partner with us and thrive in an environment built on trust, professionalism, and mutual respect.

The right fit will be someone who is:

  • A self-starter: Take initiative, confident working independently with minimal oversight.
  • An excellent communicator: Proactive, clear, and concise.
  • Emotionally intelligent: Reads the room, uses good judgment, and anticipates needs.
  • Professional and discreet: Trustworthy, respectful, and maintains healthy boundaries.
  • Comfortable in a lived-in, creative home: Appreciates personality over perfection.
  • Mindful of health and cleanliness: Comfortable supporting an immune-conscious household.
  • Cat-friendly: Comfortable with two affectionate Norwegian Forest cats.
  • Seeking a long-term partnership: Excited to grow with our family as trust is built.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Daily reset: clear counters, load and unload the dishwasher, light tidy throughout the home
  • Light organizing of closets and storage areas, following the family's lead - simplifying and supporting existing systems
  • Donation drop-offs and home project support as needed
  • Be present at home for contractor or vendor visits when the family is unavailable

Inventory & Errands

  • Weekly grocery shopping: purchase, bring home, and put away
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, laundry products, etc.) based on a standard staple list
  • Occasional errands and returns when needed

Meal Support

  • Basic weekly meal prep - nothing gourmet required
  • Support approximately 3 planned home-cooked dinners per week

Laundry & Linens

  • Cycle and stage laundry in the designated laundry area
  • Fold and support weekly overflow

Vendor Management Support

  • Vendor research via platforms such as Thumbtack; getting quotes, coordinating repairs, and scheduling contractors
  • Mail handling may be added over time as trust develops; this will not be an initial responsibility

Pet Care

  • Support of cat litter boxes during visits
