Job Summary
The House Person provides support between linen room, guest room, and maintains corridors for cleanliness and appearance. Responsible for transporting clean/dirty linen and supplies, disposing of trash, deep cleaning carpets, windows, floors, corridors, upholstery, drapes, performing special projects as assigned, and responding to guest room requests.
Job Description
- Accepts deliveries and works with Linen Supply Clerk to inventory all supplies and linen. • Distributes clean bath and bed linen from laundry to linen closets. • Delivers guest items including amenities and rollaway. • Picks up and returns to linen closets any previously used guest request items found in guest rooms. • Removes linens, towels, and trash from guest rooms. • Collects soiled linen from vacant/dirty guest rooms and transports to laundry room. • Deep cleans carpet, windows, floors, corridors, upholstery, and drapes. • Ensures windows and doorways are free of fingerprints and smudges. • Ensures that furniture and hard surfaces are clean and organized, and floors are free of debris. • Notifies supervisor of carpet stains that cannot be removed and equipment malfunctions. • Attends brief staff meeting for update on ongoing hotel activities and promotions. • Participates in company's safety program and may instruct others in the proper and safe practices. • Responds to requests and resolves internal and external guests' complaints in a timely manner or refers to the appropriate management team. • Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. • Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines • Performs other duties as assigned. • Does not provide supervision to other team members. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. • Must be able to be certified in blood borne pathogens/bio-hazardous material clean up (training will be provided). • Three or more months of related experience and/or training. • Must be age 18 years of age or older. • Familiar with housekeeping, including sanitation, laundry operation, and guest service. • Knowledge of how to use and maintain cleaning equipment. • Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude. • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members verbally or in written form. • Ability to multitask and work well under stress. • Must be a self-starter, value teamwork, and able to adjust to change. • Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.
