Job Summary and Qualifications 1.Represents Administration and provides collaborative, transformational, leadership to resolve clinical and administrative issues that arise. Communicates appropriately with Administration, Directors, MD's, Patients/Families, Staff, and internal and external customers as needed. 2. Responds to potential and/or actual emergency situations with direct and appropriate actions. Is familiar with the incident command structure and is able to perform as incident command in disaster/emergency event. 3. Collaborates with others (Respond, ER, Medical Supervisors, BH Charge RN's, and Housekeeping) to facilitate timely patient admission, transfers and staffing needs. 4. Maintains accurate documentation of staffing, payroll, coaching, orientation, trainings, and midnight census records. 5. Possesses strong knowledge base of regulatory standards and takes appropriate action to improve/achieve compliance timely. 6. Demonstrates clinical competency and assists programs with the management of clinical events in a manner that supports autonomy of professional practice. 7. Effectively manages change, team building and engagement of employees. 8. Coordinates utilization of personnel, equipment, and supplies in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Adjusts staffing to meet program based upon staffing matrix and acuity. 9. Oversees and provides quality care to all patients and families. Makes appropriate referrals to the quality department, risk management, compliance and infection control. 10. Provides for recruitment orientation, in-service training and continuing education for all staff. Assures that all float pool staff has received appropriate orientation to practice. 11. Continually assess and improves department performance. Creates and supports a culture of safety and supports staff in adoption of all quality initiatives and evidence-based practice/research. 12. Consistently holds others accountable for behaviors aligned with organizational values and policy. 13. Effectively uses coaching and management of performance skills to achieve high quality patient care. 14. Completes rounds on patients and staff to ensure patient satisfaction, staff needs are addressed and compliance with assignments, care delivery model, etc. 15. Engages self and others in shared governance process, 360 peer evaluations, Professional Management Plans (PMP's) and Magnet Journey. 16. Assumes professional and accountability for decisions and actions. 17. Other duties as assigned. What qualifications you will need: LICENSURE / CREDENTIALS: Required: · Registered Nurse License state of NH or valid compact state licensure · ACLS within 90 days of employment · BLS Certification within 30 days of employment · CPI within 90 days of employment · Preferred: · Member of a national professional nursing organization EXPERIENCE Required: Three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse with demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management skills in the role of Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, etc. Preferred: Two (2) years experience in a Nursing Management role.
