Job Duties
Under general supervision, the custodial duties include, but are not limited to:
- Regular cleaning of facilities for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
- Moving janitorial equipment, furniture, and other building items as necessary.
- Performing cleaning duties such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, etc. at heights of up to 12 feet using a ladder.
- Arranging school furnishings and equipment in order to provide adequate preparation for meetings, classroom activities, and special events.
- Maintaining and restocking janitorial supplies as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Applicants will be required to obtain an American Sign Language Proficiency Instrument (ASLPI) rating of 2 or above within three years from the date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent or 1 year of experience in housekeeping
- Strong Communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Familiarity with OSHA and other health and safety regulations related to cleaning supplies, chemicals, and housekeeping
- Professional experience in stripping and refinishing tile floors
- ASL proficiency at 2+ or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)
