POSITION OBJECTIVE: The housekeeper is responsible for cleaning all club facilities, ensuring compliance with all standards of cleanliness and safety, and ensuring member and guest satisfaction.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Ensure all areas of the Clubhouse and other common areas are clean and maintained in accordance with Club standards.
Greet all members, guests, and employees in a warm, friendly, and service-oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Club standards, as required by scheduling, which may vary according to the needs of the Club.
Perform duties in a positive, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
Be knowledgeable of Club services, features, and events.
Follow detailed procedures and cleaning schedule to ensure the Clubhouse and common areas are always maintained to Club standards. Inspect these areas daily.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock restroom supplies.
Clean locker room areas, including showers and bath areas.
Empty all wastebaskets and cigarette containers.
Take trash to a dumpster.
Vacuum carpets and mop floors throughout the club and dining areas.
Dust rooms, furniture, and exercise equipment.
Transport linen to and from the linen or laundry room.
Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
Assist with inventory control. Monitor levels of par stocks and notify the appropriate Managers when inventories are low.
Report any damage, burned-out light bulbs, and plumbing problems to the appropriate Manager.
Always comply with health and safety standards to encourage safe and efficient operations.
Attend staff meetings.
Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
High school education or equivalent required.
One year of comparable housekeeping experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of how to maintain, clean, and preserve a wide variety of buildings, furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
Must be able to follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
Strong member/guest service skills, high internal standards of quality and service.
Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role in emergency situations.
Demonstrated results-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal direction.
Excellent team player with the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires ability to safely lift items up to 30 pounds.
Ability to perform strenuous work lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
Be physically able to grasp, reach, bend, twist, and kneel.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Must be effective in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by members, guests, and employees.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor setting. Some varied weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather. Job has the potential to expose the employee to human blood or infectious materials. May work with caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
