What You’ll DoThe Housekeeper performs scheduled custodial services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Training Center (TRACEN) Birmingham Southern campus located at 900 Arkadelphia Road, Birmingham, AL, 35254.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, waiting areas, and other designated areas.
- Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in hallways, and common areas.
- Collect and dispose of trash and waste properly, following infection control guidelines.
- Restock supplies such as towels, toilet paper, soap, and other essential items in public areas, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, notifying the supervisor when items need to be replenished.
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
- Follow standard procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous materials and adhering to infection control practices.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of special events or meetings as required.
- Adhere to all safety precautions and protocols while performing duties to ensure the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
What You’ll Have- Minimum 1–2 years of janitorial/housekeeping work in federal or high-traffic commercial environments.
- Knowledge of CDC-aligned cleaning protocols, including biohazard disposal and dwell time compliance.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and comply with site security policies.
- Have or obtain required immunizations.
