Housekeeper/Cook

Our client is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and service-oriented Housekeeper/Cook & Household Assistant to support a couple and maintain their residences in Evanston, IL, and Sarasota, FL, with occasional assistance at their home in Wisconsin. This is a hands-on position focused on housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, household organization, and ensuring the residences remain well maintained and ready for the principals.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day household needs. This position offers strong growth potential for a self-starter who demonstrates the ability to manage larger projects and take on increased household-management responsibilities over time.

The couple spends approximately four months each year in Florida. The individual must be willing to travel to Sarasota to assist with opening and setting up the residence before returning to Illinois to care for the Evanston home while the principals are away. Additional travel to Sarasota during the couple’s stay and occasional assistance at the Wisconsin residence will also be required. Accommodations will be provided while traveling.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full housekeeping duties and maintain the residence between scheduled professional cleaning services
• Ensure each home remains clean, organized, well presented, and ready for the principals
• Manage all laundry for the couple, including clothing, towels, bedding, and household linens
• Provide proper garment and linen care, including ironing and steaming as needed
• Prepare simple, healthy meals for the couple
• Maintain the kitchen, pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
• Create grocery lists, shop for ingredients, and monitor household inventory
• Handle mail, packages, deliveries, errands, and other household logistics
• Assist with household organization and seasonal projects
• Use technology and organizational systems to manage schedules, lists, household information, and ongoing responsibilities
• Travel to the Sarasota residence to open, organize, stock, and prepare the home for the principals’ extended stay
• Travel to Sarasota periodically during the principals’ stay, as needed. Provide occasional assistance at the family’s Wisconsin residence
• Maintain and oversee the Evanston residence while the principals are traveling
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed
• Identify household needs and maintenance concerns and communicate them promptly

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Housekeeper, Cook, Family Assistant, Household Assistant, or in a similar private household position
• Comfortable preparing simple, healthy meals
• Proactive, dependable, resourceful, and able to work independently
• Motivated to grow professionally and take on greater responsibility over time
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital systems, apps, calendars, and lists to stay organized
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a polished home
• Exceptional discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability and willingness to travel to Sarasota, Florida, and Wisconsin as needed

Schedule: Full-time, approximately 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, with flexibility as needed

Compensation: $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
