    Job Description

    Starting Wage Range: $18.86/hr. - $24.07/hr.

    Job Summary:

    To provide support for a multi-disciplinary team.  Assists with general housekeeping to maintain the facility’s clean sanitary environment and professional appearance.

    Essential Functions:

    • Mops and waxes floors.
    • Sanitizes and cleans restrooms and showers.
    • Empties trash and disposes of garbage.
    • Cleans mirrors and windows.
    • Sanitizes toilets, urinals, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers.
    • Washes walls as needed.
    • Scrubs shower stalls.
    • Deep cleans shower mats.
    • Stocks restrooms and showers with toiletries.
    • Collects soiled linens, launders soiled linens and distributes clean linens.
    • Cleans laundry room including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning counter top areas and machines.
    • Removes graffiti and debris.
    • Rearranges or sets up furniture, tables and chairs.
    • Washes walls in offices, exam rooms and other common areas.
    • Deep cleans restrooms and shower stalls.
    • Vacuums all offices, computer rooms, lounge areas, corridors, and entry rugs.
    • Dusts common areas and offices.
    • Removes cobwebs from walls, offices, and building as needed.
    • Sweeps loading dock and around dumpster.
    • Cleans pharmacy such as floors, counters, sanitize sink.
    • Sets up areas for meetings and special events.
    • Changes light bulbs as needed.
    • Assists kitchen staff with miscellaneous duties when necessary.
    • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Education, Experience, and Licenses:

    • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
    • OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    • Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license or obtain one upon hire, qualify for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.

    Qualifications,Registrations, and Certifications:

    • Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Must have the ability to mix and use chemicals properly.
    • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, facility maps, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Must have knowledge and understanding of basic mathematic principles involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with the ability to interpret charts and graphs. Must have the ability to work under direction of others in special projects and ongoing maintenance or assistance with grounds cleaning.
    • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Must have the ability to complete tasks quickly and accurately.
    • Must have independent decision making skills.
    • Knowledge to use cleaners properly is preferred.
    • Knowledge to operate mops, buffer, vacuum, broom, dust mop, carpet cleaner, utility cart, and dishwasher is required.
    • Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture required.

    Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

    • Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
    • Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
    • Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
    • Occasionally requires lifting of up to 40 pounds.
    • Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
    • The worker is frequently subject to inside and outside environmental conditions which may or may not provide protection from weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed dust, fumes and detergents which may require the use of gloves.
    • May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during Emergencies, or when the Tribal Emergency Operations Center is opened.
    • Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
