Damar is currently seeking a Housekeeper to be provide consistent application of the highest health standards, ensuring that all residents reside in a safe, clean and healthy environment and that the building and equipment are maintained in such a manner as to comply with the State Board of Health’s rules and regulations, to ensure the health and safety of residents and employees.

 

Available hours: We are currently hiring for 1st shift / Monday through Friday (No weekends!)

Remarkable ways you will be making a difference:

  • Perform all daily, weekly and monthly duties as per the Housekeeping Cleaning standard operating procedures
  • Performs weekend duties as assigned: such as laundry, cleaning and stocking
  • Ensure all buildings are maintained in such a manner as to provide the cleanest environment as possible in which residents may live
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas

What you need to be considered:

  • No formal education required
  • Three years of experience in housekeeping in a business or office setting with a minimum of two years’ experience in housekeeping at the same facility preferred
  • Ability to follow and execute specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to routinely lift 10 to 60 pounds from floor level to overhead in height
  • Must have the ability to maneuver 20 to 100 pounds vertically
  • Must have the ability to perform daily tasks by bending, twisting, squatting, lifting, pulling and pushing with wrist, arm, shoulder and back movements
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
