Ideally has undertaken Level 3 of Cleaning Operative Training Has good communication skills, including verbal and written skill Has due consideration to the safety of othersPrincipal Responsibilities: Ensuring the environment is welcoming and comfortable for residents Keeping records of housekeeping stocks and ordering supplies In conjunction with the Home Manager draw up a cleaning programme and ensure that this is implemented Be aware of the responsibility to report any accidents, untoward incidents, hazards, and unsafe equipment Supervising the day to day running of the Domestic Staff Working within the team to ensure a high degree of cleanliness in all areas of the care home Organising day to day work requirements and set required standards against which work will be checked, in accordance with correct procedures on an 'as and 'when' required basis Carrying out the necessary housekeeping duties ensuring that the home remains clean and homely at all times, this includes the care of linen and service users' personal laundry,making beds Ensuring the general upkeep of communal areas and bedrooms Ensuring service users bedrooms are clean and tidy and to assist with any other housekeeping duty that may arise. Ensuring that the kitchen area is cleaned including laying and cleaning tables, washing up and ensuring that food preparation areas hygienically cleaned and maintained.Health and SafetyBe conversant with and ensure all staff are aware of the requirements under the Health and Safety atWork Act 1974 and of their compliance.
