A distinguished private residence in San Francisco proper seeks a seasoned and polished Housekeeper to join a high-performing household team serving an established executive and family. The Role
The Housekeeper will be responsible for the meticulous care, presentation, and day-to-day maintenance of a 20,000-square-foot private estate. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and deeply experienced in servicing fine homes of comparable caliber. This position requires collaboration within a structured household team and a commitment to maintaining a refined, orderly, and guest-ready environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization throughout the residence
- Perform daily upkeep and rotational deep cleaning
- Provide expert care for fine furnishings, antiques, artwork, marble, silver, crystal, couture garments, and delicate fabrics
- Manage full household laundry, including pressing and steaming to exacting standards
- Conduct daily walkthroughs and communicate effectively with the Estate Manager
- Organize wardrobes and manage seasonal wardrobe transitions
- Maintain supply inventories and ensure kitchen and pantry organization
- Assist with service and cleanup for dinners and special events as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a fine private home
- Strong understanding of private household protocol and etiquette
- Demonstrated longevity in prior roles
- Exceptional discretion and respect for confidentiality
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Open to working occasional weekends and holidays
- Must have strong references from prior employers
- Valid driver's license and legal authorization to work in the United States
Schedule:
- Generally a 5 day work week with flexibility required based on household needs, including occasional weekends and holidays
Compensation:
- $50 $65 per hour, commensurate with experience and expertise
