We invite you to join our team in providing essential services to those who serve our country.What You'll DoThe Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment that supports the delivery of exceptional patient care at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center (VASLC), located at 500 Foothill Boulevard, Salt Lake City, UT 84148.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout assigned hospital facilities and patient care areas.Clean and disinfect restrooms, waiting areas, offices, patient rooms, and other designated spaces.Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, hallways, and common areas.Collect, transport, and properly dispose of trash, regulated medical waste, and other waste materials in accordance with infection control procedures.Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, towels, and other essential items.Monitor inventory levels for cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and repair needs to the appropriate personnel.Follow established procedures for handling biohazardous materials and adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols.Assist with the setup and breakdown of meetings, events, and special activities as needed.Comply with all safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients, visitors, staff, and fellow team members.What You'll HaveMinimum of 1 to 2 years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in federal, healthcare, hospital, or high-traffic commercial environments.Knowledge of VA, CDC, or industry-standard cleaning and infection control practices, including biohazard handling and disinfectant dwell-time requirements.Ability to work assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and comply with all site-specific security requirements.Ability to obtain and maintain any required immunizations or health clearances.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.What We OfferAt VWI, our people are our greatest strength.
