Housekeeping Inspector

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Inspector to join our Housekeeping department at The Westin. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that every room and public space meets exceptional quality standards, directly contributing to a memorable guest experience.

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they meet established cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards. This role works closely with the housekeeping team to train staff, identify areas for improvement, and maintain consistent quality across all areas of the property.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, hallways, and public areas daily to verify compliance with cleanliness and presentation standards
• Identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damages, and report findings promptly to the appropriate department
• Train and coach housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, product usage, and safety protocols
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping Manager to prioritize room assignments and address special guest requests
• Verify that all rooms are properly stocked with linens, amenities, and supplies before guest check-in
• Maintain accurate inspection logs and documentation to track quality trends and staff performance
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout all housekeeping operations
• Communicate effectively with front desk and maintenance teams to resolve room status discrepancies quickly

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a related cleaning/inspection role
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods
• Strong communication skills to effectively train and guide housekeeping staff
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a supervisory or inspection role within housekeeping or hospitality
• Familiarity with hotel property management systems or housekeeping software
• Bilingual communication skills a plus

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of housekeeping inspection checklists and quality standards
• Understanding of proper cleaning chemical usage and safety data sheets (SDS)
• Basic computer skills for logging inspections and communicating with team members
• Time management skills to efficiently inspect multiple areas within a shift
