The Fifth Avenue Hotel, an award-winning luxury destination, is seeking a sophisticated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to join our leadership team. Located in the heart of Manhattan, our hotel is a vibrant oasis featuring 149 beautifully appointed guest rooms, where exceptional service, striking design, distinctive cuisine, and immersive cultural experiences come together to create an unforgettable guest journey.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Housekeeping Manager, you are a pivotal leader responsible for managing daily housekeeping operation to ensure staff meets company operational standards while providing the highest level of guest service. You will serve as a mentor, coach, and strategist, overseeing room attendants, house attendants, and floor inspectors to ensure all guest rooms and public spaces reflect our Forbes Five-Star luxury standards. This role requires a blend of operational excellence, fine detail focus, financial stewardship, and a passion for developing top-tier talent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Talent Development

• Interview, select, train, and schedule associates consistent with The Fifth Avenue Hotel core values.
• Coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards.
• Oversee all housekeeping operation in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping, serving as the primary point of leadership.

Guest Sanctuary & Quality Standards

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces daily to ensure flawless execution of cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards.
• Resolve guest complaints and special requests by conducting thorough research and determining the most effective, personalized solutions.
• Coordinate closely with the Front Office and Engineering teams to prioritize room readiness, manage turndown services, and track maintenance resolution.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores regarding room cleanliness and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction through targeted improvements.

Operational & Financial Stewardship

• Monitor daily room status and turnover to ensure the most efficient use of resources and seamless room availability for arriving guests.
• Manage inventory control for linens, guest room amenities, uniforms, and cleaning supplies in compliance with safety standards and operational budgets.
• Assist in the monitoring of housekeeping financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting controls and procedures.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual department-wide budgets and forecasts.
• Review all brand correspondence for updates to procedures and ensure all changes are effectively communicated to the staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of hospitality-related leadership experience, including a strong background in housekeeping or rooms division operations in a luxury hotel setting.
• Proven ability to coach and support a diverse team in a high-pressure, luxury environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills with an uncompromising eye for detail and design standards.
• Proficiency with hotel property management systems (PMS) and automated housekeeping management software.
