Housekeeping Supervisor
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our environmental services team in a skilled nursing setting. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Schedules may vary based on departmental needs, and flexibility is required, including support during emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate housekeeping and laundry staff
Assign daily work areas and manage department schedules
Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards
Train, coach, and evaluate team members
Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage budgets
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety policies
Collaborate with other departments to maintain facility operations
Oversee laundry services including sorting, washing, and distribution
Maintain records, reports, and documentation
Handle equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs
Participate in Infection Control, Safety, and leadership meetings
Additional duties include floor care, cleaning, and sanitation of resident and common areas, restocking supplies, maintaining organized workspaces, managing linen services and resident clothing care, and supporting department operations as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred
Supervisory experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
Ability to lead and train staff effectively
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with inventory systems and recordkeeping
Ability to build positive working relationships across departments
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and reaching
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and infectious materials
Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and safety
May involve handling emergency or high-pressure situations
