Job Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department, supporting team members while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and a safe working environment. This role helps guide daily cleaning operations in alignment with Renaissance brand standards, company policies, and all applicable safety and hygiene regulations.

You will help ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces remain clean, organized, and ready to deliver an exceptional stay experience.

What You'll Be Doing

Team Leadership & Staff Support

Assist with hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping associates, including room attendants and housepersons

Help develop work schedules and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient coverage and productivity

Provide ongoing coaching and training on cleaning standards, guest service expectations, and safety procedures

Offer constructive feedback and support team development and performance improvement

Address employee concerns professionally and help foster a positive team environment

Quality Assurance & Operational Excellence

Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with Renaissance cleanliness and presentation standards

Identify maintenance or repair needs and coordinate timely follow-up with engineering

Monitor proper use of supplies and equipment to maintain efficiency and cost control

Respond promptly to guest concerns related to housekeeping and ensure service recovery when needed

Enforce safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and cleaning chemicals

Maintain compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations

Communication & Collaboration

Partner closely with front desk, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure room readiness and smooth operations

Provide updates to hotel management regarding daily operations, challenges, and opportunities for improvement

What You Bring to the Team

High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality, business, or related education preferred

Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of housekeeping practices, cleaning equipment, and safety standards

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Comfort using computers, phones, and basic office systems

A hands-on leadership style and commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences

Working Conditions & Physical Effort

This role involves active, physical work including extended standing and walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work is performed in an indoor hotel environment and may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, equipment noise, varying temperatures, and other operational conditions. Proper safety procedures and protective equipment are required.
