1.      Supervises environmental services staff and operations and ensures cleanliness of all areas of the hospital.

2.      Enforces policies for the department as instructed by the Director.

3.      Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the facility; recommends repairs, improves the sanitation, appearance and efficiency.

4.      Uses independent judgement to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions of the facility.

5.      Responsible for keeping staff trained.

6.      Monitors infection control standards and medical waste management practices as they relate to environmental services.

7.      Ensures staff properly cleans and disinfects patient/non-patient areas daily using the correct products to ensure proper disinfection.

8.      Ensures staff cleans, stocks, and disinfects restrooms in all areas of the hospital.

9.      Ensures floors are properly stripped, waxed and buffed on the established schedule.

10.   Ensures staff vacuums, dust mop and wet mop and damp dust all equipment, tables, beds, cabinets and other furniture in assigned patient/non-patient areas.

11.   Ensures staff empties trash and other hazardous material daily and disposes properly in patient /non-patient areas.

12.   Ensure staff performs other cleaning duties per scheduled times:  i.e.: Cleans all water fountains, vents, high dusts all edges over 6 ft., water pipes, door and window frames, blinds, corners and baseboards.

13.   Ensures staff fills all dispensers, plus ensures that the dispensers are in working order. i.e.: soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers

14.   Ensures staff properly replaces/removes soiled linen and cubicle curtains. Follows procedures for storing soiled linen according to policy. i.e. Hazard bags

15.   Rounds to ensure staff completes cleaning logs when cleaning duties are performed.

16.   Establishes and maintains effective communication and good working relationships with other hospital staff and with co-workers. Maintains a professional demeanor and a team player.

17.   Must be able to work a schedule when needed or assigned. Able to wok weekend and holidays.

18.   Report all issues and concerns to director.

19.   Communicate and be a liaison between director and staff.

20.   Any other duties assigned as needed to help drive our Mission and abide by our organizations values.
