    Job Summary:

    Position provides the day to day supervision of the Environmental Services department staff.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

    Job Description:

    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
    • Delegate and check daily assignments.  Prioritize and delegate tasks and projects within the department.  Schedule appropriate coverage when necessary.  Provide technical guidance on more complex issues.
    • Create and supervise work schedules, vacation schedules, time off and overtime, training qualifications and meetings.
    • Hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct associates, or address an associate’s concerns/complaints.
    • Communicate with customers, patients and staff as needed to facilitate good customer satisfaction.
    • Under the direction of the Manager, provide input on how to perform task and how to achieve the goals.  Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) studies; data collection and support action plans.
    • Act as a positive example for those working with them.  Assist in training new associates.
    • Assist with resourceful use of labor, supplies and equipment to meet organizational and departmental financial goals.
    • Compliant with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety and department standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education, Credentials, Licenses:

    High School graduate or equivalent

    Specialized Knowledge:

    Good communication skills

    Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

    Basic computer skills

    Ability to understand written and verbal instructions

    Able to direct and guide work of others

    Kind and Length of Experience:

    Customer Service training and skills

    2 years of experience in supervising multiple employees

    FLSA Status:

    Non-Exempt
