Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor
This position is responsible for all housekeeping operations including hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping and laundry staff.
Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
Supervise the day-to-day housekeeping functions of assigned personnel.
Must have high standards of cleanliness, have the ability to work within budgetary guidelines, and be able to develop staff to do the job.
Assign personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Coordinate daily housekeeping services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
Ensure that personnel is performing assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures.
Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
Ensure that housekeeping personnel follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
Ensure that established Infection Control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.
Perform housekeeping tasks, as required by facility, policies and procedures, and standard of excellence.
Must be capable of operating and maintaining all housekeeping/laundry equipment (i.e., pressing machines, commercial washer/dryer, buffing machines, etc.).
Knowledge of applicable state regulations.
Experience with cost management and budgeting.
Demonstrate knowledge of Infection Control, Hazardous Waste, Disaster Plan, etc.
Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other employees.
Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and over time, to meet the requirements of the position.
Available for on-call for emergencies.
Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
Basic knowledge of MS Office.
Position Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.
