DESCRIPTION: Performs responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance of clinic facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and patients. This position also serves as a courier, only on an as needed basis, transporting time-sensitive documents, supplies, and other materials between clinics and partner agencies. Success in this role requires a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
SUPERVISION: Directly supervised by the Director of Plant Operations.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role requires frequent physical activity, including stooping, bending, lifting, and prolonged standing. Must be able to lift and transport up to 80 pounds. Some outdoor maintenance work is required. Use of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other tools is necessary.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine floor cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, waxing, and buffing.
- Clean interior and exterior windows as needed.
- Collect and dispose of trash, ensuring receptacles are clean and odor-free.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, and other common areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of immediate exterior clinic areas.
- Dust and polish furniture and equipment regularly.
- Restock and organize storage and supply carts.
- Maintain and perform minor maintenance on cleaning equipment (e.g., changing mop heads, vacuum bags).
- Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and perform other minor facility upkeep.
- Transport documents, packages, and supplies between clinic sites and external agencies in a timely and secure manner.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and contribute to a supportive team environment.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and consistently across all sites.
- Report any facility maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and cleaning procedures.
- Handle and dispose of waste according to established guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- In lieu of a diploma/GED, two (2) years of housekeeping experience in a clinical or healthcare setting will be accepted.
- Valid Texas Driver License required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain a valid Texas Driver License with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between all clinic sites.
- Basic skills in minor facility repairs.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Effective communication skills and a strong ability to work well as part of a team.
