Description
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-oriented Houseperson / Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. This dual-role position is responsible for supporting the Housekeeping Department through public area cleaning and guest service assistance, while also performing general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Houseperson Responsibilities
Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, meeting spaces, restrooms, elevators, and exterior entrances.
Respond promptly to guest requests for amenities, supplies, and special services.
Deliver linens, towels, rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest items.
Assist room attendants with linen removal and replenishment.
Set up and break down meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.
Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the property.
Assist with snow removal, grounds upkeep, and seasonal property maintenance.
Maintenance Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas.
Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry issues.
Complete preventative maintenance assignments according to established schedules.
Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely manner.
Conduct daily property inspections to identify and correct safety hazards.
Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
Assist with emergency situations and after-hours property needs when required.
Qualifications
Previous hotel housekeeping, maintenance, facilities, or related experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
Strong customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and housekeeping equipment.
